KABUL (PAN): The UN secretary-general has urged all Afghan women and men eligible to vote to cast their ballot in Thursday's presidential and provincial council elections. By participating in the elections, Ban Ki-moon noted, the Afghan people would help their country strengthen its democratic institutions, bring fresh vigour to its political life and ultimately reaffirm their commitment to contribute to the peace and prosperity of their nation.
Jalalabad - Over the last three decades Afghanistan has been in constant war, and has lost most of it's facilities. One of them is electricity, which all of the people need but most do not have. For instance in Nangarhar, which is where I live, there is no electricity. This makes students in higher education unhappy because we cannot study at night. Lighting, and all modern technology such as computers and the internet, requires electricity.
